Gilded Heritage is a second-hand jewelry dealer from New York City. They specialize in unique and luxury gold items. They wanted a logo for their social media accounts and website that was simple but high-end.
Gilded Heritage wanted something light, flowy, and refined. The target market is young women with enough income for high-end jewelry. I put together a large board of inspiration on Pinterest to make sure we were aligned on the desired direction.
Based on the direction, I created a set of rough sketches and shared them with the client. We agreed that first option pictured below was the winner, so I used that as the basis for the digital design.
Using Illustrator, I made several refinements to the logo, finally deciding on symmetrical loops for the g and h, as well as art-deco-inspired flourishes for the end of the letterforms and the vertical lines inside the letters.
The final design includes colors inspired by vintage brass and gold, as well as a light tan background to soften the overall feel of the logo.
To add a little more interest to the logo, I imported it into vector and added depth, texture, and a metallic finish. This can be used for Gilded Heritage's social media posts and promotions.
